The vegan version of the classic Italian pizza has long been a favorite among vegans and vegetarians, but it’s also become a popular dish among meat eaters, too.
This vegan version is more traditional, but not without a few tricks that can make it a better choice for vegans.
Vegetarian pizzas have a long history in the U.S., but there’s one thing that many meat eatERS don’t seem to understand: the meat is never going to be as tasty as the vegetarian version.
Meatless pizza can be great, but for vegans it’s not nearly as easy.

Here are the key ingredients to make this vegetarian version:Vegetable PlatterVegetables, like spinach, kale, or kale salad, are the perfect accompaniment to this pizza.
The veg version has just enough veggies to make it appealing, but if you have too much, it won’t be as good.
The sauce also has plenty of vegetables to go with it, which is important because many veg versions don’t have enough vegetables to keep it interesting.
To prepare the veg, you’ll need two ingredients: tomato sauce and water.
Tomato sauce has a strong tomato flavor and it adds some umami and umami-like flavors to the meaty crust.
To add a little umami to the sauce, add some chopped basil and fresh parsley.
To make the tomato sauce, combine the tomato and water in a saucepan.
The sauce should be thick enough to coat the pan and the water should be low enough to be completely submerged.
This helps the tomato keep its texture while adding umami.
Add the basil and sautee the tomatoes for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
When you’re ready to make the pizza, add the meat-free cheese and mix it all together with your hands until everything is combined and cheese is melted.
It should be smooth and gooey.
Add your toppings, including your choice of sauce, and serve with the sauce on the side.
The recipe can be made ahead of time and kept in the fridge.
It can be frozen, too, so you can make an exact version.
