Rome: The Italian Football Federation has agreed to raise a vegetable garden on the pitch at the Stadium of the Americas and will open it on the night of the match against Honduras.
The garden will be built with vegetables and herbs from local farms and the owners will raise money for the local food bank.
The Garden of Eden, the new home of the Italian Football federation, was launched last month in an effort to promote local food in a country where, according to the UN, almost half of the population does not have access to the basics of food and sanitation.
The garden will also be open to spectators, with the intention of raising money to buy local produce for the farmers.
